Before You File Your Claim
Notice of loss and/or damage must be made to Facility Owner/Manager and TPP at the time of discovery of loss or damage to the property or at the time of the removal of your property from the unit, whichever is soonest. You must report the loss to TPP within 30 days from discovery.
Do not remove items from unit without first letting facility management verify the damage. Do not discard damaged property until a claims adjuster has contacted you and advised that these may be discarded. If this is not possible, take photos of the items in the unit before discarding them.
Contact the police immediately if the loss is due to burglary, vandalism, malicious mischief, or vehicle collision. A police report must be obtained by the Tenant and is required to close a burglary/vandalism claim. Provide photos of cut lock or other damage to the unit to TPP.
Secure remaining property to prevent further loss as directed by the Facility Owner/Manager.
Video or photograph items that were damaged or loss, including origin of damage or break-in. Please provide a picture of the cut lock (if applicable) and proof of purchase(s) with your submission.
For investigative purposes do not discard damaged property until a TPP claim adjuster has contacted you and advised items may be discarded. If not possible, take a video or photograph of the items(s) before discarding them. Per the Tenant Protection Plan, Tenant must cooperate with a TPP approved licensed adjuster to review Tenant’s alleged loss or damage in person or by phone. Investigations may include video/pictures, computerized entry logs, and management reports.
File your claim immediately online at www.tppclaims.com. A delay in filing your claim or requiring manual submission will delay your claim up to 30 days. Manual reporting of claim must be done by contacting 877-575-7774 extension 6 for options.
You will receive an email outlining the next steps in processing your claim. You should receive this email within 3 days of filing your claim online.
Reimbursement for loss or damage is determined by the cost to repair or replace your item(s), up to the limit or protection you purchased.
NOTE: Only after receipt of an online claim, with the required proof of purchase/receipts, and videos/pictures can your claim be processed in a timely manner.
